DISCOVER ATTRACTIVE DESTINATIONS:
STAVANGER
The city on the mound of the Byfjord amazes with idyllic views – especially the “Gamle Stavanger” (Old Stavanger ) city quarter with its white wooden houses is certainly worth seeing. In the evening, enjoy the marvelous Marlis Petersen with the Berlin Philharmonic Piano Quartet, N.N. Violin in the Stavanger concert house, whose largest hall is named after the composer Fartein Valen.
BERGEN
The mild climate (considering Nordic standards) and the colourful wooden houses make Bergen to one of the most popular destinations in Scandinavia. The city is also well known for Edvard Grieg, who was born here and to whom the famous “Grieghallen” is dedicated to – here you will enjoy a recital by Igor Levit.
OSLO
Founded by Vikings nearly 1000 years
ago – today it is one of Europe’s most
modern cities. The Norwegian capital is a
fascinating symbiosis of old and new. The
Opera house serves as a prime example
of this:
A masterpiece of modern architecture,
designed and built to ensure the
purest enjoyment of classical music. It
is here that Daniel Hope will excite you
with his programme “Air – A baroque
journey”.
GOTHENBURG
A wreath of flowers on your head, a smile on your lips – that is Midsommar, the longest day of the year and the most Swedish of all celebrations. In Gothenburg, you will experience the festivities and celebrate musically with Mischa Maisky and his family on board of the MS Artania.
Copenhagen
Though known for arguably the world’s most famous mermaid, Copenhagen has so much more to offer: Canals, Islands, bustling life on the streets. The city is also a cultural hub – the DR Koncerthuset, opened in 2010 as what was then the most expensive concert hall in the world. Designed by famed architect Jean Nouvel, it is known for its breathtaking acoustics – ideal for the 4th concert on land: Rolando Villazón and Regula Mühlemann will delight you with their repertoire, accompanied by Plattform K+K.
AALBORG
A last stop in Denmark: Aalborg is
considered a hidden gem for cultural
aficionados. Outstanding architecture
in a plethora of styles and a (world class)
modern art museum are just some of
the highlights of this inviting city.
The
Philharmonic Five with members of the
Vienna Philharmonic will excite you with
a final concert on board.
